Mountain Bike Skills Clinics for Women and Girls

Mountain Bike Skills Clinics – developing skills and confidence for women to participate in mountain bike riding.

Delivering beginner skills clinics to women and girls to introduce mountain biking as a fun and exciting physical activity.

The Mountain Bike Skills Clinics for Women and Girls program aims to improve the confidence and proficiency of participants in acquiring mountain bike and off-road skills.

Partnering with land managers and local government to obtain access to local trail networks, the program engaged a local mountain bike coach and partnered with local clubs to promote the skills clinics.

Six clinics were held across the state, with 46 participants aged between 22 and 63 years old. Twenty new club members were gained from the four beginner skills clinics, and nine of the 46 participants have since participated in other mountain bike activities.

Participants have now also created networks of other women to ride with, which will encourage the women to continue riding and developing their mountain biking skills.
